You may notice on Windows systems that if you run Portfolio Browser, e.g. to test a catalogue for distribution Browser, then the next time you double click a catalogue icon it opens in Browser instead of the full Portfolio app.
Fortunately, the process also works in reverse. Therefore in order to 're-build' the FDB association with the full Portfolio program you simply need to open the main program, e.g. via the start menu shortcut. Once Portfolio has run once, the association for catalogue files is correct again. Of course, each time you test using Browser, you have to go through the whole process again. A suggestion has been submitted to Extensis that the Browser should check for existence of the full program and if found , it should not 'grab' the association with catalogue (FDB) files. Not fixed as at v5.01.
Fixed in v6.
Question: Browser keeps grabbing the FDB file association (v5) [FAQ00028.htm]
