Manual: v6 pp113-117

Just closing the Express floating palette doesn't close the application. You either choose quit from the palette's fly-out menu...

...or you need to (PC) right-click the Express icon on the system tray:

On the Mac - OS9 or X, switch to Portfolio Express and close it from the application's File menu.

Read the manual to see how to start or stop Portfolio Express auto-opening at start-up.

Don't forget that if you have a catalogue open in Portfolio Express, it counts as a user being connected - even if on the same computer as a client trying to admin a catalogue. If the client tells you you can't go to admin mode, pop the Express palette and check no catalogues are open. If you aren't a regular Express user, you are advised to always close catalogues open in Express at the end of a session or to close the Express app (not just the window).
