Manual: v7 Pages 28-30, v6 - Page 126, v5 - Page 190 (PNOT)

Version 7.0/7.0.1 support writing back IPTC and TIFF tag data to JPGs and uncompressed TIFFs but not EXIF data. This seems to be because EXIF data is being considered read-only as in the stricter definitions of EXIF. For those needing to repair or write EXIF data to EXIF tags try the useful Mac/Win EXIFUtils.

In v6 - no, not directly from Portfolio itself. You can extract and edit IPTC and EXIF data within Portfolio. To write it back to a file, the best cross-platform solution is to script Photoshop v7.

In the interim, Mac users can try using iVew (PSD/JPEG/TIFF) and Windows users can try IMatch (JPEG/JFIF/TIFF).

Note that generally, EXIF data is intended to be read-only (and is with iView).

Note: Mac users can make use of PNOT data.
