When copying records from Catalogue to another via drag & drop, the filename(s) in the dropped record(s) must differ from those in the target Catalogue or the data will simply be ignored. There is no warning message if records are ignored, so you should note the total record count in the target Catalogue before and after dropping to ascertain the degree of success. If you have two copies of a database and want update a specific record in copy A with the one in copy B, you are best advised to delete the record in copy A first. If you change the records associated filename (record and original file) in copy B and drag into copy A the original record will be maintained - note though that it's associated original file won't exist if it's been renamed.
