To remove just one user from served access, use the log off feature. Click the "Log Off User" button on the "Portfolio Server Administration" dialog. In order for the button to be active, a user must be selected in the left hand pane; if necessary click the plus (+) sign next to a catalogue to display the users.

Select the user you wish to log off and click the button. There will be a short delay (while the client locates the server and the user's network access is closed. The user then will disappear from the list of active users. At the user's end, when access has ceased, they get the same message as if the network access has failed - they are not told the administrator has deliberately logged them off:

A problem with this method is that it is likely to cause the user to log on again, assuming they have encountered a simple network error. You may therefore need to inform them by other means, such as email or phone, not to log on again until authorised. If you wish to stop further access by that particular user, you will need to change the passwords (level based access) or delete the user (user based access). In the latter case you might also with to change the passwords again as an additional security measure. See more on level-based or user-based access.
