Customising Gallery views

This is fairly well covered in the manual in terms of features. To call the Customization dialog, you have three choices; View->Customize, Ctrl+D, or click the top right toolbar button:

There is a tab to hold separate customisation settings for each of the 3 views plus a further 'Saved Options' tab with general choices on it. Not stated in the documentation is the face that the Gallery view active when the Gallery is saved will act as the default view whenever that Gallery is called. Closing the customisation dialog does not save your options, as the next topic explains...
