Renaming - lack of support for case sensitivity

When renaming files you can't rename them simply by changing the case of the filename. Changing "mypict" to "MyPict" will at best not work and at worst cause a program crash. You need to use trickery. Change "mypict" to "yourpict" and save. Now change to "MyPict" and save. This will work correctly.

You can't access the filename extension to change case. This probably reflects the Mac ancestry of Portfolio (it was originally Mac-only Aldus Fetch) - Macs don't use file extensions. If you need to change the case of the extension in the Catalogue (e.g. for ISO 9660 compatibility) then you must correct the capitalisation externally in Windows and re-catalogue the file (save the custom data first if need be).

See more notes on case sensitivity.
