Note the entry Add to Portfolio has been inserted into the main context menu. Placing the mouse over this entry calls the fly-out menu seen at right above. When using this feature, if Portfolio is not already running, the program will be started.
This menu option is added to the right-click context menu of icons in Windows' folders and desktop when Portfolio v6 is installed:

All the various options listed start an 'add files to Catalogue' action. The Cataloging Options dialog will be displayed if it is set to be shown when cataloguing. If more than one file icon is selected when the context menu is called the actions selected are carried out on all the selected file(s).
New Catalog. This calls the standard dialog as seen when creating a new Catalogue from the File menu.
The four most recently used Catalogues. Selecting any of the catalogues listed in this sections causes that Catalogue to be opened and the selected file(s) added.
Other Catalog. Calls an Open Catalogue dialog as seen when opening an existing Catalogue from the File menu.
