Can I pass user-defined parameters in queries?

Yes - it appears so. Just add your additional parameter(s) to the query string and PortWeb will pass these through to the next page. The simplest means of doing this is to use the 'GET' method to pass the form data and then use a script to parse the data from the document.URL or window.location.
