Yes, but only if you are using an SQL-based Catalogue. Even so you cannot do this from the client's user interface but must script this using VB ADO or appropriate Mac OS methods.
Moving to SQL allows this as the Catalogue is no longer stored in the proprietary Catalogue format but rather in the relational database format of MS-SQL or Oracle, although the field structure remains the same.
Portfolio's default sort is on the "Cataloged" field (i.e. the Record ID). So, the second level sort in any normal catalogue is the chosen sort field and if duplicate, then by RID - which by its very nature is unique.
