How do you support multiple clients without them having access to each other's information?

Security or Access control via the PortWeb component would be up to your Web Server. PortWeb is only designed to allow your Portfolio information to be searched and data returned to the client's web browser via a html response template. PortWeb uses a standard CGI plug-in on the web server to allow the interaction of requests to your Portfolio catalogue.

All of the creative process would come through your web development efforts. To setup some access parameters, you could try the following:

• Start with multiple Catalogues and restrict individual Catalogue usage to only those to whom you want to permit access.
• You can also design your web interface to require the user to type in a customer ID or access code. This could force the query to only return items that are coded with that ID number.
• You could restrict a user's search to items coded for specific customer ID only (which you need to set up), then allow them additional searching within the items found.
• You could ultimately hide a field search parameter that omits or allows specific Catalogue data to be searched depending on the search criteria.

None of this is iron-clad security but Portfolio isn't designed for high security environments, it is meant for artists, designers, and marketing departments that want ease of use and low administrative overhead.
