How do I set which View a saved Gallery should use?

Every Gallery, saved or unsaved can be displayed in one of three Views: Thumbnail, List, Record.

Although not stated in the manual, when you save Gallery the settings that get saved include the Gallery's current View (i.e. which of the three above) and the window state. The window state records whether the Gallery window is either maximised inside Portfolio or 'normal'. In the latter case the actual window dimensions are saved.

This can cause an annoyance; if the Gallery is in 'normal' state with a large window and the main Portfolio program window is then reduced in size. The Gallery window though not maximised is now larger than the available window. Sadly the Gallery window does not adjust by putting scroll bars in its window, you must move and resize the Window yourself - and resave the Gallery if necessary.

'Untitled' galleries default to Thumbnail view if opened as the first Gallery window, unless another View type has been set in the Catalogue default settings. otherwise they usually (though for some reason not always) inherit the view type of the current Gallery.
